WHY IF I TRAVEL TO ALL 50 STATES INTERVIEWING SUCCESSFUL WOMEN FROM ALL WALKS OF LIFE IN ORDER TO EMPOWER YOUNG WOMEN? That was the idea that kick started this journey. It was March 2010 and I was at a conference taking notes when the idea came to me. I was so excited, I immediately shared it with the stranger sitting next to me, because apparently, that’s just what you do, at least that’s what I did. Her response, “That’s a great idea, but you don’t have any money.”

How she came to that conclusion, I will never know. But just that quickly, I gave in to doubt and delayed going after my dream for years. Fortunately, the dream and the desire to empower women refused to die. Unfortunately, there are so many others who abort their dreams because of the words and doubts of others and because of their own doubts and fears and I’m on a mission to change that.

MY GOAL IS TO DARE YOU TO PURSUE UNAPOLOGETICALLY. To challenge you to say yes to your dreams. Say yes to the pursuit. And to keep saying yes until your dream is a reality.

I DARE TO DREAM PROJECT IS A CAMPAIGN DARING YOU, ESPECIALLY WOMEN AND YOUTH, TO PURSUE YOUR DREAMS UNAPOLOGETICALLY AND AND ROBBING YOU OF THE EXCUSES THAT KEEPS YOU FROM PURSUING.

I realized that in order for women to pursue their dreams, they must first dare to dream, which is precisely what they are called to do for I Dare to Dream Project’s user-generated documentary. Women and girls of all ages and from all walks of life are asked to submit a video, 1 minute or less, answering two questions – what do you dare to dream? And when it comes to your dreams, what are your fears?

With the aim of collecting at least 100, 000 user-generated videos, I am partnering with individuals, schools, churches and organizations to challenge women to share their dreams and call out their fears.

By declaring our dreams out loud and sharing them, they are more likely to become a reality and by callying out our fears, we are better able to confront and break up with them. It doesn’t mean our fears will no longer exist, but it does mean that we are changing our relationship with fear and choosing to make what we want more important than what we’re afraid of.

I DARE TO DREAM PROJECT ENCOMPASSES THE USER-GENERATED DOCUMENTARY, THE BOOK SERIES AND LIVE EVENTS, AND OF COURSE, THE 50 STATE ROAD TRIP, BECAUSE WHILE I’M DARING YOU TO PURSUE YOUR DREAMS, I WILL BE PURSUING MINE AND SHARING THE JOURNEY ALONG THE WAY.

So what do you dare to dream? #shareyours
