Name: Maya Penn
How It Started:
Maya Penn started off her career as an entrepreneur with a small piece of fabric that she found laying around her house in which she crafted into a zebra print headband embellished with a butterfly. She called this creation “Zebra Fly”, which inspired her to create other handcrafted accessories. The moment she got stopped on the street by admirers of her work was when she realized that she had been sitting on something that could be extraordinary. Maya Penn then launched her own fashion company at the age of 8 called Maya’s Ideas 4 the Planet.
