HOW IT STARTED:
At a young age, Nadia felt inspired by art which is why she began drawing. By middle school she felt the need the share her artwork with the rest of the world. By age 14 not only did she have an inspiration for art by she gained interest in climate change in an environmental science class. Nazar gained further insight and inspiration from Jamie Margolin, a high school student involved in climate change activism targeted towards young people, and that’s where her journey began as an artist tackling the climate change crisis with her very own artwork.
HOW IT’S GOING:
Nadia Nazar is now a 19 year-old artist, climate justice organizer, and musician that is currently attending college at the Maryland Institute College of Art. She has organized multiple community art builds for climate demonstrations and has served as co-founder, co-executive director, and art director for Zero Hour, which is a youth led climate justice organization. Along with being co-founder for Zero Hour, Nazar is also Youth Climate March’s Co – Organizer.
“It’s so sad to see this world.
A world that so many have poured their love and souls into.
A world that is quickly being destroyed from the fossil fuel industry and climate inaction.
All that love, destroyed.”
